At this moment, you mean everything

Welcome to the year 1980. I am turning 8 years old this May. I'm a second grader at Our Lady of Mount Carmel school and I have a beagle named Sammy, who I sometimes refer to as a "bastard" when I think no one is listening.

My parents discuss very boring things that are going on in the world, such as a hostage crisis in Iran and two guys who are running for President of the United States: Jimmy Carter and Ronald Regan.

I care for none of these things, for I am in love. Completely in love. Every Friday night at 8 pm, John and I have a date. It's only for an hour, but I take what I can. John is my whole world. Watch the video below and you'll agree -- he's the hottest thing on TV and I am the luckiest kid ever, because my parents are taking me to The Philadelphia Car Show where I will meet him in person.

(My blog title is from Come On, Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Runners)

Ah the love I used to have for John Schneider. I was to be Mrs. Bo Duke, I was sure of it :)

Karen has been reading out blog-a-thon and has been inspired. There's a link to her blog on my page.

Oh Jen, you crack me up!! Deja vu! I had a sitter every Friday night and I remember watching that and eating too much ice cream.
