Let's Hear it for the Boy!

Hi, everyone! It's 1982 and lots of things are happening in my world. First of all, the baby is here and it wasn't a girl. So you can guess what it is! I have a brother. He's so little and has that awesome "baby" smell. He is the most perfect baby there ever was! So boys aren't that bad after all, I guess.

The other day I got fed up with my Rubik's cube, I gave up on trying to actually solve it. I peeled off all the stickers and then put them back on like it was solved! The only problem is they're kind of crooked so I don't think anyone bought it!

Oh, and guess what? The kids across the street just got Pac Man for their Atari. I am so jealous that we don't have Atari. I have to pretend I like those kids so I can go over there and play Asteroids. I never get the toys I really want. Like when I asked for the Barbie Dream House a couple of Christmases ago, I heard my mom say to my dad, "I'm not buying that plastic peice of shit."

Well, gotta go...we're going to the Atco drive-in to see ET! I can't wait.

(My title is Let's Hear it for the Boy by Deneice Williams from the Footloose soundtrack.)

I loved the Atco Drive-In. Many a Kurt Russel Disney movie was seen there from the back seat, pillows and blankets and a big bag of popcorn.

I got the Barbie Dream house. Complete with all the furniture. Such is the life of an "only" child. I made Barbie and Ken have wild nooky all over the house. Be glad you didn't get it- you were saved from a promiscuous adolescence.
