Saffron Darling is my dog.
For 13 years, when people on the street have asked what her name is, I get either a blank look or one of the following responses:
1. You named her after the spice?
2. You named her after the Donovan song?
3. You named her after the Gap commercial jingle? (Seriously, I have gotten that. Seems people don't know their Donovan songs the way they should.)
It was not until this morning that someone actually got it right!
Yes, I named her after Saffron Monsoon from the BBC show Absolutely Fabulous!!!! The "Darling" is from when the character's mother refers to Saffron as "Sweetie Darling." And shame on you for not knowing this show.
From now on though, I am going to tell people she was named after the Gap ad.

Thanks to your AWESOME Cousin Liz, she introduced me to Edina & Patsy and the lovely Saffron many moons ago. This show used to send us into fits of laughter. Infact, the other day this line popped in my head: "SMA!!!...SMA!!!!!!" And the always classic "Bombay chip?"
