Refocusing

I've been in a bit of a feeling sorry for myself kind of funk. And for that, dear readers, I am sorry.

Instead of being all mopey in this post, I choose to focus on happiness. I am grateful for so many things and I think it's time I focus on that.

I am grateful for my family. I am luckier than most in as much as I am friends with many in my family. They are amazing people that I adore and any of them would be there at the drop of a hat for me.

I am grateful to the ladies to the right of my margin - or my fellow bloggers. You have all taught me so many valuable lessons through your stories about love, life, loss and laughter. I adore you all.

I am grateful for girly things. MAC makeup, OPI nail polish, flip flops, and most especially very high heels.

I am grateful for the food in my fridge, the roof over my head and the pillows I rest my head on.

I am grateful for the brain in my head and the education my mother paid for to train it.

I am grateful for the snooze button and long, hot showers.

But most of all, least I forget her, I am grateful that I am me.

That was very eloquently put, Jenn. And whether or not people have the courage to own up to it or not, we ALL experience periodic lulls chock full of fear, self-doubt, and insecurity. Any question regarding the validity of this assertion can be quickly answered by all the gadgets and toys (i.e. updated i-phones, big screen tvs, video games, social websites, etc...) that we adults indulge in often to the detriment of real communication and engagement. So those feelings that you and I talk about and joke about are FAR more prevalent than even we can really surmise...But as you so wonderfully worded it, there are countless things to be grateful for and appreciative of in this world. And despite all the bullshit, we should ALWAYS make it a point to remind ourselves of this.
