The Wire-Haired Terrier in this shot is Saffron's boyfriend, Bernie.
Bernie and his owner, Marlene lived above us up until about two years ago. On occasion, Marlene and Bernie would come to visit and both dogs would get so excited to see each other again.
Marlene called me tonight to tell me she had to put Bernie down. He was 15.
