You'd think that since I drive to Pennsylvania every day that I'd have an Easy Pass. Well, think again. I happen to be proudly Pass-less. Someone at my office asked me why the other day and I think my reasoning made them think me a bit...odd.
There are some normal reasons...the biggest of which is that the bridge I take doesn't have fast lanes for Easy Pass. Cash or Pass, you are all in the same lines. Second, I don't want to let that small, but sure debt accumulate on my credit card. I know I could pay it off every month, but I know me better than you do and I know I won't. I'm better with cash.
But the big reason...the one that made so-and-so look at me as thought I was speaking like the Swedish Chef...is that I like talking to the toll-takers.
We live in a world where we can trudge through an entire day without speaking a word to another person. ATMs, automated telephone prompts, etc. Sometimes it's just nice to say "good morning" to another human being.
And that is why I pass on the Pass.

You make perfect sense to me! :-)
I'm pass less too, and I make fairly frequent car trips up and down the east coast!
I forgot all about the tolls! We don't have water, so no bridges. And we pay for our roads in our taxes, I guess.
I bet those toll people get some rude folks. You are making the world a little brighter with your "good morning!"
