Look at me, Damien. It's all for you.

Damian

I simply love scary movies! I seriously cannot get enough of them. There is no greater happiness than sitting in the dark and jumping in absolute fear. The funny thing is, there are movies that I have seen so many times, but they still manage to scare the crap out of me. The Shining, Halloween and The Exorcist are top on that list.

And then there's The Blair Witch Project. I have only seen that movie once and refuse to ever watch it again, for I had terrible nightmares for weeks afterward. I believe that is due to a deep-rooted fear I have of the woods.

The Omen is also a great one. Sometimes I catch my dog sitting across the room and staring at me...I call that her "Damien face."

Speaking of dogs, they come in handy during the scary movie watching. Well, Saffron doesn't, but normal dogs can. I used to have a beagle named Baxter who would curl up with me on the sofa while I watched horror films in the middle of the night. He was not a fan, but he stuck it out in case I fed him the occasional chip or popcorn. In return he would allow me to squeeze him when I got scared. It was symbiotic relationship.

So if you're in the mood for some scary fun, open all the windows, turn out all the lights and pop your favorite scary movie in the DVD player. Chances are I am doing the same.

I saw the Blair Witch Project and screamed through the whole thing. I thought Scot was going to kill me. The way they shot that movie made it seem like it was happening to you. We have a friend that named her kids Blaise, Reagan, and Damien. I was like "Lisa, don't you know two of those names are from The Exorcist and the Omen?" But I didn't say that. I just thought it.
