I walked over to the county library this evening to pick up a book for my mom. While I was there I got the latest from Patricia Cornwell, Book of the Dead. Once I begin reading this book I don't foresee too much sleep in my future, for Patricia's books are super-scary.
While at the library I got this overwhelming sense of guilt that I should have checked out a more cerebral read. I recently told someone there are many books - classic books - I've never read. Like The Catcher in the Rye. How could I not have read that? I did cross Alice's Adventures in Wonderland off my List of Non-Reading Shame a couple of years ago. There are other classics I've tried and struggled with, like Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. Oh, the shame!
Past Blog Update!
I just got off the phone with my mom. And if I can wipe the tears from my face, I will update you on the past blog She's Picked Out a King-Sized Bed...
Okay. So we left a bunch of run down furniture at my grandmother's apartment...my old bedroom set, a TV table, some lamps and a kitchen table and chairs. My uncle told the super of the apartment building it could all be trashed. Mr. Super went in the apartment the other day to check out what needed to be tossed. Then he got a call from his daughter. His daughter just fled, with her baby girl, from where she was living with a physically abusive boyfriend. She came back to NJ and is trying to put her life together, but she has nothing. Mr. Super called my grandmother and asked if he could take the furniture, fix it up and let his daughter use it. Seriously, I am tearing up. Mr. Super told my Nan that this furniture is a blessing for them because he can fix what needs to be fixed and she will be able to have a few nice things as she tries to repair her life.
I cannot begin to convey how happy it makes me to know that this woman and her child will have safe nights of sleep together in that bed without fear of being hurt. This is the perfect ending to my bedroom set tale.
My title is from White Rabbit by The Jefferson Airplane.

OMG you totally just made me cry with that. Though you may not have liked it apparently God had a reason for yo to get that furniture. It just took quite a while for him to get to it.
PS. I've been trying to use Jefferson Airplane lyrics all week and have had no success. You stink :)
Seriously. Liz, I was overwhelmed by happiness when my mom told me where the set was going. You never know how something so simple can affect another persons life.
