All bark and little bite too

Well, the cage wasn't a good idea. Saffron's never been crate trained and she was petrified of it. She couldn't calm down and cut her mouth trying to bite her way out. My little Saffron using her teeth other than for eating snacks???? Who knew she was so tough?

The vet said she could be baby gated in part of my kitchen instead. I put her in there last night around 10 and she bit and scratched at the gate a bit, then cried and barked for about two hours before falling asleep.

This morning at 7 we went out front and she did her business. I let her sit on the grass for about 5 minutes and then it was back inside the prison. More barking for another 2 or so hours.

At 12 we had a tinkle break. Right back to prison. The barking...oh my God, the barking! Did I mention the dramatic heavy breathing? Yes, that comes between barks.

I will break this dog today. She will accept this, as there is no choice. This is really a life and death situation...if she doesn't heal she will have to be euthanized...end of story. If she stays put and rests her bod, she will heal.

Now it's a battle of the wills. Hers is mighty strong, but mine is unmatched. I will not loose my dog because of this.

Saffy, woman up girl! Hang tough and don't give momma a hard time. We're rooting for you.

Hang in there cousin. She may be adorable and have those "please let me out of this God forsaken prison" eyes but be tough!

You're doing great mom! Keep it up! Could the vet give you something mild to help calm her nerves?
