Well, kids, a more productive day of Christmas shopping has never occurred before.
Mom and I drove up to Flemington, NJ this morning so I could get a pair of shoes in the Bass outlet and I can happily report that my $78 shoes were 60% off. Then I went into the Maidenform outlet and got 5 pairs of knickers and one really cute bra for $33. SERIOUSLY!
But that's not the best part. After driving back down south and hitting some secret stores where I crossed my brother and sister-in-law off my list, I wandered through Macy's and found a Queen-size Sealy mattress set for $400!!!!!!!! Yippee! It's being delivered next Saturday. For those of you who have had the experience of sleeping in my bed recently, you can understand my excitement. It's not so much a mattress anymore...it's just sort of a couple of springs covered in fabric.
After stopping for lunch and visiting with Uncle Fran and Aunt Louise, we finished up at Wal-Mart (sorry all you anti Wal-Marters) where I got enough dog food to open my own kennel and picked up PJ's and a sweater for the two senior citizens I "adopted" for Christmas. Oddly, my seniors are named "Ann" and "Regina" which are the names of my great-grandmother and my grandmother.
So, yes, I crossed a TON of shopping off my list and I feel good. I'll feel even better next Saturday night when I get to sleep in my comfy new bed!
My title is from Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
