Girl, look what you've done to me...

If you know anything about me, you know I am 100% head-over-heels in love with my little dog.
Saffron is a Basset Hound, she's 13 1/2, and is completely in charge of our relationship.
She also hasn't been very well for the last few weeks. And because of her age, I have been on pins and needles the last couple of days especially.
She's had panic issues when I've left for work, she's been drinking much more than usual and began having tinkle accidents in my apartment...something she N-E-V-E-R does.
As a person who sees the glass as neither half full, nor half empty...I don't see a glass...I tried desperately not to jump to conclusions as to my little bear's health.
On Thursday night I left her vet a long-winded message about Saffron's symptoms. She called me Friday morning and said the first step was a urine test.
This morning I was armed with a shallow Tupperware container as I took Saff for a walk. She squatted and I shoved the container under her chunky little bod. I took it to the vet and sat by myself for 20 minutes waiting for the results.
"Please give an answer," I thought. "A good answer or a bad answer. Just let me know what I'm fighting."
Well, it turns out the pea-picker has a urinary track infection. She's on antibiotics for 14 days. Hopefully that's the extent of the issue.
Thirteen and a half years is a long life for a dog, but it's still not enough time.
It will never be enough time.
My title is from Davy Jones' Girl...as can be enjoyed below in one of my most favorite Brady Bunch episodes EVER!

I absolutely LOVE reading your blog! Such talent!

I can totally relate to the line ... "Thirteen and a half years is a long life for a dog, but it's still not enough time." I feel the same about my boston terrier - Maggie. Sometimes my mind wonders to the day when Maggie isn't with me and it brings me to tears! So you are right, no matter how much time I have with her it will never be enough!

Keep blogging!
